Why Are Negative People Like They Are?

I mean there’s just so much negativity among so many people and they genuinely enjoy it when others aren’t doing as well, and genuinely don’t care about other people; it’s basically just themseles, money, how they’re going to get by, their future, their car, their wardrobe, their health, them them them them. even the people who sponsor things like Go Green, taking care of the planet and other things, genuinely really are only out for themselves and think along the lines of “how’s this going to improve my resume, how’s this going to make me look good as a philantropist,” me me me me me,…and the people that publish these things in articles, newspapers, magazines, etc…all think about, “how is writing this going to look for ME,” etc etc.
it all comes down to the self and me, and if people care about others at ALL, it would be along the lines of comparing themselves to other people, if their car is better, how their lives and careers rate to their peers, and all sorts of competitive things like that, more or less.
That’s not to say that people in general don’t care, 100% of them, but a huge good chunk is like I’ve described.
Even within theology/religion, a field that’s supposed to have different types of humans, is filled with people who just bicker, fight, don’t care, and have agendas (at the expense of others).
Most people have the attitude of just “oh I’ll do whatever, I don’t care, let them TRy to stop me,” like they want to beat the system, beat anything and everything, think religion is a weakness/mind control….
people in general love and want to be egotistic, intellectual, etc…all about self-empowerment, self-worship, self-Gods, and they care NOT about society or anyone else. If an atomic bomb was dropped, they’d probably yawn and go “oh well we WERE getting a bit overpopulated honey, it happens,” and just pack their bags and move elsewhere.
They just don’t care, as long as THEY and their lives are unscathed and untouched, but they’ll totally sell their souls (if they have any to begin with), and whatever it takes to get by.
this is why the world is the way it is, and this is why the nature of life, hard, fast-paced, cut-throat, is how it is. Because a large portion of humans are truly like that at heart, and hence…magnify that times 10, and you have this world.
The good in the world comes from the portions of people who are visionaries, have souls, put out good, etc,…but those aren’t many.
It’s either evil, soulless, egotistical tyrant types, sheep who don’t care types,..disgruntled intellectuals who know too much but have too little and are miserable types….dumb types….
the truly GOOD person…almost doesn’t exist anymore, and this global society is sick and only about profit at the end.
Literally.
competition, profit, putting down others so you can climb up over it.
hell, even religion is a means to stab others and drag them down. How so? Well like this, “oh you CAN’T succeed..you can’t do that, you can’t thinkn that…..it’s against GOD. If you do, you’ll burn in hell!”
see what I’m saying?
This world is more than a lil screwed up and I ask you guys…if there are any thinkers among you,
any ideas on all of this?

Well, not everyone is like you say, but there is no doubt that this type of mentality is spreading like a disease, mostly because everyone is addicted to pleasure in this country and so many are below the poverty line. If the wealthy just kept giving they would forfeit their comfort zone and others would never learn to create their own, they would just keep taking until nothing was left. The majority of all the wealth in this country is controled by 3% of the population, this leaves the majority of the rest of us feeling bitter. Until the scales are equaled out somewhat people will continue to have this me,me,me, attitude because their isn’t enough money to go around for the peasants such as myself in this country. I am not wealthy, but I came to realize the more you give the less people appreciate it and they even come to expect or demand it, which leaves you with a feeling of emptiness and being used. Why should a select few be responsible for the majority? It is human nature that we want to be sheltered, treated equally, pampered and loved, people want it, but they don’t want to put forth the effort to return it, but when so few are treated with the respect of being a human being, and so many abuse the kindness of others, this society we live in is the result you get. It is because people allow greed and power to corrupt them, and this happens at all levels of social standing in this country, from the very poor to the very rich. You can no longer do good deeds without questioning whether or not you are going to be taken advantage of because on the whole people can’t be trusted. This is why people have come to the conclusion that it is every man for himself and stopped caring about their neighbor. GREED, GREED, and more GREED. It will never be corrected until the people that govern this society attempt to even the scales a bit, like Obama wants to do, but all of the companies closing and the job losses are the result because people who have aren’t willing to risk losing it for their fellow man who doesn’t even appreciate it, and aren’t willing to work, but rather just expect a handout from the wealthy. ;-)

yep. everyone is out for themselves. just stay positive and stay away from negative people. they can suck the positive out of you with just a look in your direction.

There are truly good people out there.
It’s finding them that’s hard.
Everyone makes mistakes, but you can tell when someone is genuinely a good person.

thats human nature.
we want to survive and thive so we do what we need to do to get it.

Usually they become that way after a life of putdowns and critisism and negativity towards them. People aren’t born like that, they’re born happy and innocent. It’s what OTHERS choose to do to them that makes them feel animosity and anger and pain. They DON’T want to be like that, they search for positivity, they just can’t see it through the fog of crap. Many times it also stems from them having high expectations for themselves and others which is an inevitable letdown since people are selfish. Nobody chooses to be like that they feel like they have to. They’re “taught” to.

well i have to agree with much of what u are saying… but the whole religion concept u have goin on here isnt true at all…. u will not burn in hell if u sin… i mean hello everyone sins that is why u must get saved and ask forgiveness… well all sin… we all do things against god.. this is our nature.. but it doesnt necessarily mean we are going to hell…
and as for people being so negative and greedy.. yes many people are… but most people no matter how negative or greedy have some type of caring in their heart everyone has a concious unless u have a certain type of psychological disorder… so yes there are many greedy people who seem to care only about themselves…. but most people no matter how greedy they seem to be… care about someone other than themselves.. maybe a mom, dad, child or close friend… but pretty much everyone cares about someone else….
but i do agree a lot of people do seem to care about themselves more then others

In the USA, we have encouraged materialism and “the self” to the detriment of the familial and communal ties that give us real happiness and support in dark times. This has actually disempowered us by turning us into individuals and consumers. I basically agree with your points but I do think we’ve been indoctrinated since birth via TV and even social mores in the West to be yet more selfish and materialistic and ironically it’s made us more unhappy. Until we realize the connection between “me first” and misery, we won’t realize what matters or live happy and productive lives.
